My Life With Psoriasis

It has been very long since I posted, isn’t it? I have been very very busy. I went to East Malaysia to take care of some work for the company, and I have been out of touch with the whole world for quite some time. My Olivenol supply is nearing the end, and only today I have been reading the emails sent out by the folks are Triniare! Gosh it sucks to be internet-less and contact-less with the outside world!

Before I went, I had to get a haircut and with the P sores very much visible, I had no choice but to use the Dermovate cream for a week to remove it. I had been hoping for Olivenol to show the results soon, but it’s not a miracle cure. I guess my body has to take longer to adjust and accept it.  My sores on the scalp look minimal now that I used the cream, but I gotta stop using it gradually. The problem is, my hair is very short, and now that I’m back in the cold air-conditioned office, the sores will start becoming very dry, and visible by 11 am. And it’s never comfortable to be answering to people about my condition, simply because not everyone is understanding and accomodating.

It’s only when I got back that I saw the email advising us to go back to the 2ml twice a day regime. I have been on the 1ml twice a day after the initial 3 weeks period ended.

Stress has been an issue that is present for the last month for me. Office work + freelance business is taking up most of my time being awake. I get by with around 7 hrs of sleep per day, yet at the end I’m dog tired. Maybe this stress also plays a certain part in my stubborn P condition.

I’ll get back with photos, guys. Till then, adios.

It’s been 2 weeks since I’ve been taking Olivenol and applying Mebo on my leg. I’ve been doing it religiously ever since the day I first started this program. Today I completed my 1st bottle of Olivenol, and I will be opening the new bottle tomorrow.

Here are the pictures of my condition now. Frankly, I do not see much change in the pictures, but the amount of flakes have reduced. Or maybe I just wish too hard that this will actually work and I can successfully conquer psoriasis.

Lately I have also been bery stressed. Office work is plenty, as well as my freelance work. Sigh. The things we do to make a little more on the side for a better life. Haha. Weekends are my personal sanctuaries. It’s my time for myself, to relax and to sleep, of course. I’ve been quite busy lately that I almost forgot to write this weekly post. And I was actually meaning to write up some stuff about my experiences with psoriasis during my school and university days. Hope I find the time soon. Till next time, take care folks.

It’s the 6th day of using Olivenol AND the MEBO cream for my leg. Well, I couldn’t take photos of my scalp by myself since my bro will only be back on the weekend. So I promise to put up pictures on Sunday night OR Monday morning. I haven’t actually seen any changes to my scalp, but hey, it’s only 6 days. This is science, not magic. There’s a long way to go still.

There seems to be improvement on my leg, though. The MEBO cream seems to work great. Here are the BEFORE / AFTER pictures.

AFTER - 6 DAYS LATER

There’s an improvement, eh? Maybe the photos can’t do much justice. But believe me, my leg isn’t looking so “diseased” like before. It’s looking more like “healing-after-a-burn” kinda way. 🙂

Hopefully this is one of the many good things to come my way!

This morning, I started taking the Olivenol medication as recommended. 2ml / twice per day. I will be taking the 2nd dosage in a while.

1st time taste is quite weird. I dunno how to describe it though. A funky, musky aroma and taste. Once it landed on my tongue i was like WHOOAAA! Hahaha… but hey, aren’t most medicines like this? 😛

I dont care about the taste. I care about the results. And I hope Olivenol can deliver.

Now, time for my medication…….. ciow!

I received an email today saying that the product should have arrived. As soon as work was over, I rushed home to find the package awaiting me. Opening it, I saw two packages of Olivenol and two packages of Mebo. The email I received stated that Mebo is a cream used to treat burn wounds, and the generous folks at Olivenol provided it for me to apply it on my leg lesion.

Here is the photo is the product I have with me now.

I’m so excited. You can imagine my excitedness of trying this new treatment as so far, it didn’t go too well for me with my current treatment regime. With science on my side and a little help from God, I hope that Olivenol works for me.

Good day. Here’s a small introduction of myself. I’d rather not reveal my true identity to the public, so for now, you can call me Kay. I’m a 25 year old guy of Indian descent living in Selangor, Malaysia. I work a full time job and I seem like another regular person you’d probably see every other day. Except with one major difference. I have been diagnosed with psoriasis for the past 15 years.

I learnt about psoriasis at an early age, as my mother told me that my grandfather was diagnosed with the same condition many years back. Though my case isn’t as severe as my grandfather’s, I still find it a major problem in my day-to-day life. My condition affects my scalp, elbows and a small part of my legs.

Having psoriasis leaves a major dent in your self-confidence.  I still have issues with this disease when I go out in public, especially when it flares up suddenly and people keep asking me about my “dandruff” problem. I found it easier to say that I have “dandruff” rather than explain about psoriasis.

I have been using the same type of medication for the past 15 years. Talk about a loooonggg time. Sheeessh. I’ve been on Dermovate Cream and a type of oil (the pharmacist tells me it’s coconut oil) which I have to apply to the flakes 30 mins before I take my bath. Then I wash it down with a shampoo (Polytar Liquid) and then I gotta apply the Dermovate cream. The flakes disappear, then after a week or so, they reappear. Everytime my hair grows longer, it’s much harder to apply the cream. Each trip to the dermatologist costs me around RM200 for a 5 min consultation and the same medication. I now get the same medication from the pharmacy, but now they seem to have stopped selling the oil.

So after trying this one medication course and countless other herbal medicines (I’ll tell you about them next time), I stumbled upon the Olivenol Livin’ blogsite a few weeks back, and was elated to read about their offerings. I thought to myself, what have I got to lose. The best thing that could happen is that my psoriasis will be in control, and it ain’t a bad thing at all.

The following are the photos of my condition:

So here I am, waiting for the Olivenol product to be delivered. As soon as it is here, I promise to share more about the product. And I shall be praying to control this disease. Stay tuned for updates. 🙂
